About This coach

I am an imperfect and seasoned mother to two young adults. I have been married to my husband for 25 years. I am a school counselor and education specialist and have worked in that capacity for over two decades. I am Pennsylvania certified master's level school counselor. Additionally, I am a certified Parent Coach from the Jai Institute for Parenting. I have worked in a number of capacities in the field of education, social services, wrap around services, crisis intervention, and restorative practices. Through my years of experience I have worked with a multitude of issues, needs, and challenges and I am well equipped to join your family in their journey. Whether you are a new parent or caregiver or you have been at it for a while, I am here to help free of blame, shame, guilt, judgment, or pressure (we are hard enough on ourselves, we don’t need someone else to join in!). My hearts deepest desire is to help you to cultivate joy, love, fun, peace, and connection in your family.

What Makes THEM Special?

Hi! My name is Alissa Messina and I am a Parent Coach with Willow Spring Counseling Center in Harleysville, PA. I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about how I can help you.

My Passion as a parenting coach is coming along side families wherever they are in their journey. Relationships are at the center of everything we do and I love connecting with others. When I was working as a school counselor, countless parents said to me over the years that they wished there was someone to help them with their parenting.  I heard that request and made it a reality!

Parenting is such an important job, yet we get zero training! We are thrown in headfirst, sink or swim. I will never forget the first night at home after I had my oldest child. She was crying all night long and my husband and I just looked at each other after trying all we knew to do and said, “What now?” Maybe you are having a “what now” season in your parenting. Perhaps you just need some support to figure out what feels right to you. I remember waking up in the morning and feeling like my life was groundhog day. I wanted to enjoy being a mom, but I felt stuck and overwhelmed. I wondered why it felt so hard for me, yet others seemed to breeze through parenting without a care in the world. Feeling this ineptitude made me want to hide the challenges that I was experiencing. If you can relate to anything I have said or even if you can’t but you are interested in learning more. I invite you to reach out and schedule a free phone consultation to hear more about how I can help you to cultivate peace, joy, calm, hope, and fun into your parenting! I look forward to hearing from you soon!
