About This coach

Parent to a toddler and currently six years into the journey of step-parenting teens, I came to parent coaching after two decades as a community worker (helping to create and run community groups and campaigning on social justice issues). My passion for that work drives my desire to equip families with the skills and knowledge to be fair, kind and empowered. I truly believe that creating the world we all deserve starts in the home, and this is the most important work that you or I could be doing at this time.

I honestly feel most alive when I'm holding space for other people to explore their own situations and consider solutions which might bring them more peace and joy...well, then and when I'm making art! Or dancing! I believe that connection, creation and caring are the three purposes that we have on this planet.

I promise to see the best in you, and to help you see the best in your child, even when they are testing you! Get in touch to ask me anything you need to, I'll be happy to help!

What Makes THEM Special?

As a step-parent myself I love to help blended families in particular, especially helping both bio and step-parents to understand and hold boundaries which keep themselves and their families safe. I can help you hold space for positive outcomes without attaching to any particular picture of how the family should look before you can be happy. You deserve happiness today! I'm grateful to say that's what my family enjoys now (after several years in some very dark woods) thanks to employing the methods I can talk you through.

As well as my Jai certification I'm an accredited Youth Worker validated by the NYA in the UK and I'm really passionate about working with the families of teenagers.

Things from my personal history which help me to understand some less-represented client groups include: being a survivor of emotional abuse, being diagnosed as an adult with ADHD, personal and family history of depression and anxiety, being from a bi-cultural family of origin and partnered to someone also from a bi-cultural family of origin, being a queer and polyamorous person in a 'straight' monogamous relationship. If any of those speak to you, fantastic! If not, I am sure we have other common ground, and I am excited to see what that might be.
