About This coach

Prior to becoming a mum I was an event planner and worked my way into the industry starting as a sales executive and then an Event Manager for an International hotel chain.

That was my life until I became a mum in 2014. I knew I always wanted to be at home raising my children but I also had a burning desire and dream to be a life coach I just didn’t know what my niche was - that was until I had my first daughter and I was thrusted into the motherhood arena.

During my first year of maternity leave I set up and created a loose leaf tea brand Happy Me Tea’ for pregnancy and wellness. Eventually this was stocked here in the UK and now America with Amazon being the main sales channel. My whole ambition for setting up this business was to connect with mums but I slowly realised an e-commerce business was not the best way to reach mums.

So fast forward to now and after birthing my second daughter in 2017 I gained qualifications in Neuro Linguistics Programming and Parent Coaching which equipped me with the skills to start working 1-1 with parents all over the world!

It's also worth mentioning that during this time my marriage ended when my daughters were one and three. As I was fully immersed in the work of conscious parenting so much was brought to the surface from my own childhood and my husband and I realised that if we wanted to give our daughters the best shot at life we would have to separate which we did in a really peaceful, loving way. We are still great friends and co-parent our daughters beautifully. So I really believe it IS possible for other co-parents to reach this point.

I absolutely LOVE working with parents and this will be my work for the rest of my life. There is always something to learn especially as my own children grow and I also learn so much from clients. It's like a continuous journey of self growth - it never stops!

My heart is so happy when I see how much my clients grow. On our final call together I pull out the notes from our very first call and it's always emotional to see how far they have come. My most memorable client on her first call said  she "hated her 10 year old daughter" and on the last call she was in disbelief that she even said that as they had the most connective, loving relationship by the time we had finished working today.

When I'm not working or looking after my little girls, I am an avid reader  (my clients always get the BEST book recommendations) so you can find me curled up on the sofa with a mindful big mug of tea, some soft blankets, candles and a book (mainly psychology, child development, parenting books!)

Prior to COVID-19 times I would love meeting friends in little coffee shops for breakfast, strolls along the north-east coastline where I live, pilates and salsa classes and also strength training. I'm spontaneous and energetic and my inner child likes to try new things whether that be sky diving, wake boarding or zip lining - I'll always give everything a go!

What Makes THEM Special?

The core of my work consists of a therapeutic, conscious relationship that I collaboratively build with my clients. I provide an empathic, validating approach ensuring clients have the safe space to feel seen, heard, validated and understood as many adults didn’t have these crucial needs met in childhood. My work uniquely combines therapy with coaching which helps clients connect their past with their present so they can progressively move forward.

I do not believe that clients are broken or that they need to be fixed. I use appropriate self disclosure with clients and recognise that what is revealed inside the client is also inside of myself, noting that all suffering is due to a lack of connection so I help clients reconnect back to themselves which in turn enhances the connection to their child.

As well as being a qualified Parenting Coach I am qualified as an NLP practitioner, family workshop facilitator and I'm part way through training in Dr Gabor Mate's compassionate inquiry approach.

Most people find me through my Instagram page where I talk often about childhood emotional neglect, feeling feelings, inner child healing and reparenting. Many parents have commented that they feel like I'm directly talking to them through my posts so I find many similarities in the parents who choose to work with me and they tend to be more permissive, struggle with boundaries, have a hard time feeling or connecting with their feelings and want to be more present and less disassociated, distracted, busy.

I tend to work with parents of children ages 0-14. Our sessions tend to look at real time situations that parents are experiencing and then we go back and look at those events through a different lens so we can reframe them. A parent explores what could have been going on for the child, what was going on for them and is eventually able to recognise the needs that weren't being met for both the child (and themselves). This allows the parent to have more empathy for the child and for themselves as they understand they are often repeating what the same parenting they received.

Often parents who work with me have read all the books and know all the "scripts" but have problems being authentic in their communication and their way of being. This is where I support them and help them acknowledge how their own inner child wounds are showing up impacting their parent/child relationship.
