About This coach

I was raised by a single mother. We lived at/below the poverty level throughout my childhood. My parents divorced when I was an infant. And It wasn’t until I was in my thirties that I met my biological father again.

While my mother had good intentions and clearly loved me, her approach to parenting fell into more of the ‘power-over’ or authoritarian category. As is the case with many of us raised this way, I knew I didn’t want to raise my own children this way.

Breaking the generational pattern in my family has required that I be very intentional. That is, seeking out gentle/respectful/peaceful parenting education has been a priority in my life since my first child was born. Forgiving myself for my own mistakes along the way has also been an important part of my journey.

I love being a parent coach because, well, I truly enjoy helping others…And I’m passionate about parenting! What an honor it is to be able to help people do what I believe to be the most important job in the world: parent! I also love that children are obviously helped, too, when I coach their parents.

I believe that all beings deserve to be happy and healthy. This, of course, includes parents! Self care is a MUST. I advocate for total wellness - mind/body/spirit.

When I’m not coaching, I can be found navigating and appreciating life with my family, at a yoga class, walking and picking up trash on the beach, gazing up at the sky in search of hawks, gardening…and you guessed it, learning more about how to be a better parent!
