About This coach

I firmly believe that as long as there is air in our lungs to breathe there is HOPE! (Opal Post)

As a young mom with several children who entered our family through adoption, I thrived with structure and consistency.  I found joy caring for and spending time with my children. I naturally pursued discipline with what I knew, what worked for me; a consistent behavioral approach of rewards and consequences. This method brought results when my children were young but as they approached middle school I found myself traveling down the road of frustration, anger and fear. I knew what we were doing wasn’t working but I didn’t know any other way. Out of failure and desperation I began to change the direction of my parenting. I stopped focusing on modifying behavior and began to focus on emotional connection and the need beneath the behavior. As I saw progress and growth in our family I dug deeper. Through parent training workshops and literature I learned how stress and trauma effect the brain. As I incorporated this knowledge into my parenting I watched God heal deep wounds and strengthen the connection and relationship with my children.

This healing has stirred a passion and ignited a dream to give hope to other struggling families. With nearly 25 years of experience navigating the good, the bad and at times the ugly of parenting I will walk beside parents, educators and caregivers with empathy and grace, providing education, support and encouragement in a safe, shame free, guilt free environment.

What Makes THEM Special?

I am a certified Trauma Responsive Master Coach through Post Institute as well as a certified Jai Parent Coach. I specialize in discovering ways to build connection and guide children who have experienced early trauma or struggle with challenging behaviors both in the home and in the classroom.

My education and early childhood background allow opportunity to walk beside teachers who desire a classroom management plan that is free from behavioral charts and reward systems.  I have life experience that includes large family dynamics, adoption, foster care, young adult children, death of a child, ministry staff, and community leadership.
