About This coach

As a coach who is also an adoptive parent and former foster parent, I see parents who are raising children who have experienced adoption and complex developmental trauma. As an adoptive parent, I have experienced lonely places where I needed my community to see and understand what life was like for our family. As a parent coach, I have the tools and understanding to support families as they begin to see and meet the needs beneath the behaviors in their homes. Also, I am able to inform and walk with a family's circle of support so the change happening within their family is not experienced in isolation and so that they and their children can experience meaningful relationships outside the home.

When I'm not coaching, I can be found laughing with my four sons and my husband, enjoying being laughed at by my four sons, telling and writing stories, and, above all, avoiding housework.

What Makes THEM Special?

Because the more healthy relationships a child has, the more likely they are to recover from their trauma and thrive (Bruce D. Perry), my goal is to offer your family and your family’s support network what I wish every adoptive and foster family had: a coach walking with you as you collectively learn how to see, interpret, and intervene when a trauma-experienced child’s behaviors are bewildering to you. Being understood is far too uncommon for foster and adoptive families as well as for the children they’re raising. There is strength in community. As we collectively begin to see children and families through a new lens, our lives change. And their lives change.

Because I know from experience how complex it is to raise children who have experienced developmental trauma, I have several offerings to support the unique needs of foster and adoptive parents and their communities.
