About This coach
I received my BA from Emory University in Atlanta, and a Master’s in Teaching from Simmons University in Boston. I hold certifications in Special and General Education for Early Childhood and Middle Grades, and in Orton-Gillingham (Literacy approach for dyslexic learners; Massachusetts General Hospital).
In addition to holding Jai certification, I'm a Master Certified Life Coach and a Certified Professional Coach.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, where I now live with my spouse and perfect pup, Willow. We're the proud parents of two young adults. I love tinkering with crafts, especially embroidery and felting. I'm an avid traveler and reader.
What Makes THEM Special?
I was a classroom teacher for 26 years before I became a coach, and my work with parents is deeply rooted in the understanding and experience I gained from working with hundreds of kids and families. But my truest and deepest understanding was born of my own experience parenting two amazing, complex, challenging, and exceptional kids. I approach my work with the background and skills of someone with a master's degree and more than three decades of experience, combined with the humility and absence of judgment of someone who's been there.
I coach parents privately and in groups, and everyone who works with me has 24/7 access to my audio program, Parenting in the Real World, which is, in a nutshell, the parenting manual you've been looking for. And, I'm writing a book. Yippee!
