About This coach

Hey there!

I’m Alex, a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, parent coach, and founder of Raise Strong. I help parents understand their child’s big emotions, reduce power struggles, and build calmer, more connected homes using practical, evidence-based tools.

I created Raise Strong after years of working with children and families and seeing how many parents were trying so hard, but only being given advice focused on stopping behavior instead of understanding what was underneath it. I believe strong kids start with supported parents, and my coaching is warm, practical, and nonjudgmental.

When I’m not coaching or creating parenting resources, I enjoy rugby, writing, fitness, and spending time outdoors.

What Makes THEM Special?

Parents often ask me what makes my coaching different from the sea of advice out there. The truth is that my special sauce is not about offering quick fixes or rigid rules. It is about providing a rare blend of clinical psychology, deep emotional safety, and a completely objective, judgment-free perspective.

As a school psychologist, I spent years watching overwhelmed parents do their absolute best, yet they often lacked the emotional tools to connect when it mattered most. I quickly realized that heavy, evidence-based concepts like polyvagal theory and nonviolent communication were not helping families if they stayed stuck in textbooks. Parents did not need more theory. They needed someone to translate that science into simple, actionable steps they could actually use in the middle of a messy meltdown. They needed an outside expert to look at their family dynamics with fresh eyes and remind them that they are doing better than they think.

That is exactly what I bring to the table as your coach. I provide a neutral, fiercely supportive space where you can share your hardest moments without any fear of judgment. My focus is always on your nervous system first, because strong kids start with supported parents. If you are raising a highly sensitive child or navigating constant battles, I will help you practice co-regulation, let go of the daily guilt, and step into calm, confident leadership. You do not need to be perfect. You just need a steady plan and a safe place to grow.
