About This coach

I was an elementary school teacher and reading coach before my husband and I decided it would be best for our family if I stayed at home with my (then) 5 month old son. At that point I became a stay at home mom and had my daughter 2 years later.

Recovering perfectionist here, and when I do something I go all in. I began reading all the parenting books, got added to email lists, listened to podcasts, and started to really think about the type of mom I wanted to be. I had used Positive Discipline in my classroom, and that felt comfortable. I love the idea of kind AND firm and connection before correction. This also led me to Dr. Dan Siegel and Dr. Tina Payne Bryson- I get something new out of all their books, and value the importance of brain science as well as making sense of our childhood and how it affects our parenting.

The teacher and trainer in me never went away, so I began talking with fellow moms, and sharing what I was earning. I quickly realized how many moms felt like their kids were the only ones who _____ (fill in the blank with any crazy behavior that kids do). I talked to moms who were frustrated, confused, and felt guilty because they were parenting in a way they didn't want to, but didn't know what else to do. I knew I wanted to do more to support these moms and show them they could parent with confidence and connection.

This is when I found the Jai Institute for Parenting and became a parent coach. I truly believe that how we raise our children can ultimately change the world. I live each day trying to follow my two favorite mantras - "lead with love" & "just keep swimming".

My favorite thing to do is help parents find confidence in their parenting, and a connection with their child. I also love dark chocolate, listening to a great book, and really great conversations with friends.

What Makes THEM Special?

I was an elementary school teacher and reading coach before I became a stay at home mom, and then certified as a Positive Discipline educator and Parent Coach. Empathy, patience, acceptance of others, and problem solving are my strengths. I love to work with parents who know that they want to parent without yelling, punishing, or threatening - they just aren't sure what to do instead. I help parents shift their mindset, and fill their toolbox with positive parenting tools.
