About This coach
I am Dr. Deborah “Deb” Zupito, a Master Parenting Coach through the Jai Institute for Parenting and an early childhood educator with more than twenty years of experience working with children and families. I am also the Executive Director of Little Learning Academy, a private preschool community where I have spent nearly two decades supporting the social, emotional, and developmental foundations that shape children’s lives.
My coaching is grounded in both research and real-life experience. I believe that when parents understand how the developing brain and nervous system work, parenting becomes less about reacting and more about responding with connection, clarity, and confidence. My goal is to help parents feel supported while building strong, respectful relationships with their children.
Through my work with Treehouse Minds, I provide coaching, writing, and resources for parents and educators focused on emotional intelligence, prosocial development, and nervous system regulation. I am passionate about helping families move out of cycles of frustration and into calmer, more connected homes.
When I am not coaching or working with families, I enjoy reading, researching, crocheting, and journaling. I also love traveling, spending time near the water, and exploring new places with my family.
What Makes THEM Special?
I hold a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and have spent more than twenty years working directly with young children, families, and educators. My specialty is helping parents understand what is actually happening in their child’s developing brain so they can respond with confidence rather than frustration. When parents understand the nervous system, behavior begins to make more sense. What once felt like defiance often reveals itself as overwhelm, immaturity, or a skill that is still developing.
I especially love working with parents of preschool and early elementary-aged children, the years when emotions are big, independence is emerging, and families are often asking, "Why is my child acting like this?” These early years are incredibly powerful because small shifts in how adults respond can have a lifelong impact on a child's emotional development.
My approach blends neuroscience, child development research, and practical strategies that parents can use immediately in real-life moments like bedtime battles, transitions, meltdowns, sibling conflict, and strong-willed behavior. Families often tell me that our sessions help them feel calmer, more confident, and more connected to their child.
Another part of my “special sauce” is that I am not only a coach. I am also a school leader and educator who works with children and families every single day. That means the strategies I share are not just theoretical. They are tested in classrooms, homes, and real family dynamics.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief. When parents understand how children develop emotionally and neurologically, they stop feeling like they are failing and start feeling empowered. That shift alone can change the entire family dynamic.
Through Treehouse Minds, my goal is to help parents build strong roots of connection, regulation, and emotional intelligence so their children can grow into resilient, empathetic, and confident human beings.
