About This coach
I became a parenting coach because I know the impact of a child growing up in a loving and peaceful home with strong attachments to present and intentional parents. While I never expected parenting to be about perfection, I believe there has never been a more important time for me as a parent to be good at what I do. As I discovered and implemented new approaches to do my own parenting better, I felt compelled to support other parents who are as committed to this growth as I am, thus beginning my journey as a parenting coach.
I believe in adherence to that unwritten rule that as parents, we work to give our children better than that we ourselves had as kids. No matter our stories, it is up to us to ensure that our children know love, guidance and support so they can grow into their best selves. For that to occur, we must also strive to be the best possible version of ourselves.
I have been a coach and educator for more than 20 years. In the past seven years that I have devoted exclusively to working with parents, I have had the privilege of supporting and witnessing remarkable transformations within families that started with a mom or dad who wanted more, believed it was achievable, and pursued it. It remains my passion to be a resource for parents committed to securing deep connections with their children, and peace within themselves.
Away from the work, I am an avid reader, a lifelong baseball fan, a car guy, married to my best friend, and a father of three whose dad cab game is super strong!
What Makes THEM Special?
Crazy as it might be my winding road has been very rewarding. Life gets colorful sometimes – I totally get it! I have been humbled by the challenges of parenting two children who lost their mother at a very young age. I have learned how to navigate the complexities of a blended family. I have supported my wife's unique needs as a stepmother and, for a time, been a stepdad myself. My experience parenting a special needs child has inspired grace and humility. Overall, life has gifted me the valuable ability to find humor, and even great beauty, in the most challenging moments.
I am also a trauma-informed family development professional with an academic background in psychology. At the center of my coaching practice is my commitment to reducing the impact of childhood trauma – both on my clients themselves and on their children – one relationship at a time.
Ultimately, my greatest asset is the way in which I customize my coaching to serve the whole person. From what I have learned to what I have lived, I know how affirming it is to feel seen and heard. I work to explore what that looks like with each coaching engagement and create the supportive, nurturing dynamic essential for truly transformational growth.
