About This coach

I am an educational and child psychologist with over 20 years experience working with children, their families and educators in a variety of roles including as a nursery auxiliary, nanny, learning support assistant, teacher aide, ASD outreach worker, educational psychologist, coach and clinical supervisor, with additional specialisms in child and adolescent mental health, neurodiversity and the impact of trauma.

When I first became a mother I felt that with all my specialist training I should be able to do it 'all', and do it all 'perfectly'. This stole a lot of my joy in motherhood and quickly led to burn out.  One of my fondest memories is of the day when I consciously set all those expectations on myself aside, went to the park with my 1 year old son and simply lay on a blanket with him in the sun and enjoyed being with him, fully present.  My aim as a parent coach is to help other parents find the space they need so they can be the parent they most want to be.

I work with parents to help them shift from surviving, to thriving. I empower parents to press pause for a moment and consider how they actually want family life to be, and how they want to get there. My coaching weaves the science of child development and psychology into the unique intricacies of each family situation, providing a truly tailored, and therefore, effective approach.

Informed by my experience I provide a holistic service that is compassionate, creative and action orientated - serving as a catalyst for positive change. I support parents to decipher the nuanced needs that underlie their child’s behaviour, fostering connection at a deeper level and enabling them to move forward as a family.

What Makes THEM Special?

My specialisms in social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, neurodiversity and trauma come from both my professional and personal experiences.  As a parent of a neurodiverse child with sensory processing needs who has also experienced medical and educational trauma, I understand the behavioural challenges and intense emotions that can arise within a family as a result, and ways to navigate  through them.

I am also a homeschooling parent, and my educational psychology background means I am well placed to support parents in considering and meeting their child's individual learning and educational needs as well as how to handle the dual roles of parent and teacher.

My family and I live on a sailboat exploring the world, so I work remotely across multiple time zones and locations.  So, if it sounds like we would be a good fit, feel free to reach out wherever you are in the world! :)
