About This coach

Hi, I’m Flavia.

I’m a Brazilian-American parent, integrative practitioner, and passionate advocate for raising emotionally healthy, connected families. I’ve lived in the United States for over 20 years and currently call North Carolina home, where I live with my husband, our teenage daughter, and our sweet family dog, Sparky.

Like many parents, my journey into this work began through my own parenting experience. I understand firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to support a child’s big emotions while also managing the stress and demands of everyday life. That personal journey deepened my belief that parenting is not about being perfect—it’s about growing alongside our children with awareness, compassion, and intention.

I believe that behavior is communication, that connection is more powerful than control, and that when parents feel calm, supported, and confident, children naturally do better. This belief is what inspires my work every day.

As a coach, I bring a warm, nonjudgmental presence along with an integrative, neuroscience-informed approach. My background includes training in trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, youth anxiety and depression, art-based therapeutic practices, and lifestyle and wellness coaching. I love helping parents move from feeling overwhelmed and reactive to feeling grounded, empowered, and connected with their children.

I’m especially passionate about working with families navigating anxiety, emotional intensity, sensitive or strong-willed children, and the challenges of modern parenting. As someone who has lived between cultures, I also enjoy supporting multicultural and expatriate families adjusting to life transitions.

When I’m not coaching, you’ll usually find me creating art, spending time outdoors, walking with our dog, or enjoying meaningful conversations with family and friends. Creativity, mindfulness, and connection are not only part of my work—they are part of how I live.

It’s an honor to walk alongside parents as they grow into the calm, confident leaders their children need.

What Makes THEM Special?

What makes my work unique is the way I bridge science, nervous system awareness, and real-life parenting with compassionate, practical support.

My approach goes beyond behavior strategies. I help parents understand the why behind their child’s reactions by looking through a neuroscience, attachment, and nervous system lens. When parents learn to see behavior as communication—not defiance—they can respond with more confidence, connection, and effectiveness.

My “special sauce” is an integrative method that combines Trauma-informed and nervous system–based parenting, Positive psychology, CBT, and DBT-informed emotional skills, Nonviolent communication and connection-based discipline, Art-based and experiential practices that help both parents and children process emotions, Mind-body regulation tools, including Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), and lifestyle/wellness strategies.

I especially love working with families navigating:

  • Anxiety, emotional intensity, or overwhelm
  • Big feelings, shutdown, or reactive behaviors
  • Highly sensitive, strong-willed, or neurodivergent children and teens
  • Parenting stress, burnout, or self-doubt
  • Cultural transitions and expatriate family life

As a Brazilian-American who has lived in the U.S. for over 20 years, I also bring a culturally sensitive perspective and enjoy supporting international and bilingual families.

Parents often tell me they appreciate that our work is both deep and practical. In our sessions, we don’t just talk about what your child should do—we focus on helping you feel more regulated, empowered, and connected, because lasting change in children begins with the nervous system of the parent.

My goal is to help you move from reacting and surviving… to leading your family with calm, clarity, and connection.
