About This coach
The most influential teachers in my training as a parent coach are probably my two kids – now nearly 30-something adults! Even though some stages felt like trials-by-fire (hello, high school years) we got through it and, once on the other side of conflict, found ourselves closer, wiser and even more caring of each other than we thought possible.
Being a parent is undoubtedly the role and "work" I cherish most in life. Over thirty years in the world of education, graduate studies in psychology and cross-cultural communication, combined with training in coaching, compassionate listening and more, have shaped me and strengthened my vocation as a parent coach.
I'm a naturally curious person and lifelong learner, a lover of nature, music and travel, good food, mountain hikes and long conversations at a brunch or dinner table. I'm committed to supporting families' emotional health and wellbeing and working creatively with parents to build the connection and peace they desire for their families.
What Makes THEM Special?
My journey to parent coaching grew naturally from over 30 years in education, where I discovered a powerful truth: when we support parents, we transform children’s lives. As a Spanish/English language educator working with K-12 students and young adults from diverse cultural backgrounds, I saw firsthand how a parent’s confidence and emotional awareness shapes their child’s security and self-worth.
My path took an exciting turn when I began coaching college students through their academic and career decisions. Working with these young adults showed me how deeply childhood experiences influence emotional resilience and life choices. This perspective, combined with my expertise in cross-cultural communication and my own trial-by-fire experience raising two children (now approaching their 30s!), led me to focus on what I believe makes the biggest impact: supporting parents as they nurture their children’s emotional wellbeing.
Today, I’m bringing all these pieces together to help parents like you create the emotional environment their children need to thrive. Whether you're working on setting loving boundaries, tackling teen challenges, or navigating cultural dynamics in two languages, I understand the territory. My approach combines practical strategies from my teaching days with the deeper insights I've gained from life and work with families across different ages, stages and cultural contexts.
My coaching style? Think of me as a knowledgeable guide and ally who honors and sees your essential role in your child's emotional journey. I offer straight talk and a fresh perspective, wrapped in genuine care and support. Whether you're dealing with specific challenges or just want to build a stronger relationship with your kids, I'm here to listen without judgment and help you find practical solutions that feel right for your family.
I truly believe every family has what it takes to flourish. Sometimes all we need is some extra support and reliable, research-based tools to get there. Let's work together to bring more understanding, connection, and joy to your parenting journey - and watch how these positive changes ripple through your whole family.
