About This coach

Hi! I am Jessica, founder of Jessica Vitlar Parent Coaching. I am also a pediatric physical therapist (specializing in premature and medically complex kiddos) and a mom to a spirited and sensitive little kid, who has been my greatest teacher. I became a parent coach because I wanted a relationship with my child that was based in mutual trust, authenticity, respect, and unconditional love.

Even though I knew the kind of parent I wanted to be, walking that path proved to be more difficult than I thought. Having a child was like holding up a mirror to all my insecurities, triggers, fears, you name it. And I felt myself falling into all the parenting patterns that I had been trying to avoid. What ultimately helped me evolve into the parent I wanted to be was the support of a parent coach.

Once I understood how possible it was to build a relationship with my child that was rooted in mutual trust, connection, and empathy, I became deeply passionate about supporting other parents in this life-changing work; helping parents move away from traditional “power over” parenting strategies and redefining what parenthood means.

In my free time, you can find me (and my little adventure buddy) hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, or playing baseball!

What Makes THEM Special?

I believe all children deserve to be guided, supported, and loved by the best version each of us have to offer them, as parents. The work starts with us. As a parent coach, I am here to help you reimagine and reestablish a different kind of relationship with your kids, one that is grounded in connection, understanding, and joy!  My education from the Jai Institute for Parenting, combined with my developmental background as a pediatric physical therapist gives me a unique perspective on child development and how to help struggling parents/families.
