About This coach
Joe Kelly’s personal and professional life weaves a rich tapestry of dedication, learning, and leadership. Celebrating forty years of marriage, Joe is a family man at heart, blessed with a loving wife, five children, and twelve grandchildren. His devotion to family mirrors his passion for education and personal development.
Joe’s journey into martial arts began over 35 years ago. Today, he is a respected 5th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, exemplifying the discipline and strength the art teaches. This discipline extends to his professional life, which spans 39 years in various educational roles. Joe has served as a teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, and principal of an alternative high school—roles that have allowed him to nurture and guide young minds.
Academically, Joe is highly accomplished, holding a Master’s Degree in School Counseling and another in Educational Leadership. He has also completed extensive training in mental health counseling, equipping him to support others with empathy and understanding. In recent years, Joe has focused on life coaching, earning certification as a Certified Master Life Coach through the Jai Institute for Parenting. Over the past two years, he has dedicated himself to coaching individuals and helping them grow personally and professionally.
When not immersed in his professional roles or martial arts training, Joe enjoys quieter pursuits. He is an avid gardener, finds solace in Dutch oven cooking, and cherishes time spent reading and being with his family.
What Makes THEM Special?
What sets me apart as a Jai Parenting Coach is the depth and breadth of my experience—over 40 years as an educator, school counselor, administrator, martial arts instructor, and parent of five (and grandparent of twelve). I bring a calm, grounded presence and a unique blend of wisdom, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution expertise to every session. I specialize in helping parents of tweens and teens navigate challenging behaviors, communication breakdowns, and emotional struggles with empathy and structure. My background in trauma-informed care, martial arts discipline, and adolescent development allows me to support families in building trust, connection, and lasting change. I especially love working with parents who feel overwhelmed or stuck and are ready to transform conflict into connection.
