About This coach

Hi, I am Kenya (she/her),

I'm the mom of two young boys and my life is basically full of adventure, scooter rides, dirt, and lots of hugs. I've always loved working with children and have been doing so as a school psychologist for the last 12 years. Over these years I have developed a passion for changing the perspective adults have of children's behavior because I've seen how much it impacts children's ability to be vulnerable enough to learn and engage.

After having my youngest child a couple years ago, I realized that I wanted to turn this passion into another career path. I implemented behavior strategies at home but felt really uncomfortable with them and was unsure how to parent confidently in a new way. I felt deeply that I needed to learn a lot more, if I wanted to be able to help others.

Now, I am thrilled to be able to serve you and your young child in developing deeper connections through empowered parenting. I believe in the power of each parent to create a safe emotional world for their children. And I believe the best way to do that is to deeply understand their own bodies, needs, and emotions and why they parent the way they do. I believe when parents focus on being a safe space for their children, they can create an environment in which children can show who they really are and feel empowered to create lasting positive change in our world - at home, at school, and wherever their little hearts take them.

Thank you for considering allowing me to be a part of your parenting journey!

What Makes THEM Special?

My background as a school psychologist has provided me with a wealth of experience in the areas of child development, brain development, neurodiversity, learning and conscious discipline, and the importance of parents as advocates for their children - both at home and at school.

I love working with parents of preschoolers and elementary age children as well as teachers and school staff. I have seen the need for education and support for the adults in children's lives in schools and through conversations with parents. I want to bridge that gap and create a world in which children can be safe and empowered enough to learn and explore with confidence!
