About This coach

Hi, my name is Patrick Dedrick, the coach behind Progress Over Perfection Coaching. I am a certified Gallup Clifton Strengths Coach, Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, and Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation. Most recently, I am happy to add Jai Certified Transformational Parenting Coach to this list!

I have over 15 years of experience working the corporate world, at a number of Fortune 500 companies, both as an individual contributor and leader of others. Through that journey, I have found myself in the pursuit of finding harmony with being career driven and holding an identity outside of the workplace. This has become a significant focal point in my life since becoming a father, and it is the struggle I found in pursuing this balance that led me to Jai.

I believe that it is possible to have both a fulfilling career AND an intentional and present relationship with your family at home. From my own experience, this isn't easy, and the world we live in is not geared towards finding this integrated reality, but through dedication and drive, I believe that it is possible. That's where I come in, and where I want to help. I want to help you find the peace in knowing that you are showing up as the best parent you can be, while also fulfilling the other aspects of your life - whatever that may look like.

My philosophy on coaching holds as paramount the truth that you have all that you need - sometimes, you just don't know how to access that. That's where I come in, and I can't wait to help you get to where you want to go.

What Makes THEM Special?

As a coach, I bring a unique combination of career success and drive along with being a husband, and parent to 4 daughters. I have also experienced the loss of a child, which I believe has helped to temper my outlook on both parenting and work, that allows me to look beyond what we might consider to be the norm in today's career-driven world.

I am passionate about working with fathers that want to grow as a parent as they find their own balance between their careers and home life. I also love to stand with and create space for those fathers to challenge the generational and cultural expectations of what it means to be a father, so that they can find for themselves their own authentic approach to parenting that they can be proud of.

I am also a certified professional coach through the Co-Active Training Institute, and International Coaching Federation, a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, and a Certified Change Practitioner with Prosci.
