About This coach

"Quite simply, I get my clients from chaos to calm."  That's my answer when people ask what I do as a Parenting Coach. It's my super power. My clients, parents just like you, create family connection and excitement around their parenting adventure. Sound too good to be true? I promise it isn't.Chaos use to rule my world, but no longer.

Like most of you I wear many hats - mom, coach, veteran, friend, mentor - all those hats can get overwhelming.  I worked hard to be a mom and it's definitely the hat I cherish most. After years of infertility treatments and failed adoption placements, I finally realized my dream of motherhood when my daughter, Katie, was placed in my arms at 18 days old. Her brother, Patrick, followed a couple of years later at only one day old.  Because I wanted parenthood so badly, it never occurred to me I might fail at it, but fail I did.  Oh I loved my kids, as I'm sure you do, but after a few years I found my self yelling more than hugging, dominating more than encouraging.  I tried everything, 123 Magic, Dr. Spock, Permissive Parenting, Attachment Parenting, consequences, rewards, time-outs, praise, bribes, more screen time, less screen time. Ugh.

My world began to shift when I discovered Conscious Parenting. The brain science behind this style of parenting instantly resonated with me and I committed to learning as much as I could about it. I read books, articles, talked to experts, took courses, and scoured the internet. I learned a lot and was able to make small changes in my parenting that, over time, had a large impact on how my kids responded to me. Things weren’t always perfect, but I was successful in reducing our daily stress and improving our relationships. After awhile, I wasn't yelling at all. My kids and I were a team, taking on the world together. At long last, I was enjoying parenting and I was going to bed night after night with a sense of pride in my parenting abilities.

At the time I was an officer in the Army, leading and mentoring troops.  I ran a women's group and facilitated retreats.  I was surprised to find that my new parenting style helped in all areas of my life.  My relationships at work flourished, friendships deepened.  I felt compelled to share what I had learned with other  parents who confided in me that they were struggling (which was most parents I knew).  I loved being able to help other parents and see families grow and become more connected.

After I retired I found Jai and became a certified parent coach.  The Jai system took all the research I had done, all of my practical experiences and successes with my own kids, and simplified it all in an easy to communicate and teach package.  I have had a full and wonderful life with lots of adventures and relationships that feed my soul but I know that being a mom, and now a Parenting Coach, are why I was put on this planet.  Guiding my clients to more fulfilling relationships with their kids is my passion.  If you're ready to reconnect with your kids and find a sense of ease and joyfulness in your parenting - then you are ready for a parent coach.  I would be honored to be that coach.  We will  identify your hopes and dreams for yourself, your kids, and your family.  Then we will find your parenting superpower and use it to create transformational change.  I look forward to speaking with you.

What Makes THEM Special?

Hello and congratulations on taking the first step to a more fulfilling experience as a parent.  I believe connection is what makes the world go 'round.  In this work we expand our capacity to empathize and CONNECT with our children (no matter their age).  With a formal education in business and psychology and a military career spanning three decades, I bring a wide variety of tools and eclectic experiences to my practice.  Military? been there. Married? been there too and now divorced and singe parenting.  Mom? me too!  Dad? some of my best clients. I adopted my kids later in life so I understand the advanced maternal age comments as well as the "real mom" comments.

My clients say I am a safe place for them, a grounded sage who understands their deepest fears, who helps them find joy in their parenting experience. It is my profound honor to hold space for parents who courageously do this work.  Whether you are looking for 1:1, couples or group work, I would love to connect and see if we are a good fit.  If we are, great, we can discuss the best options for your life.  If we aren't, I am connected to a network of amazing coaches and will be happy to help you find the one that is your perfect fit.
