About This coach

Sarah J. is a Certified Cognitive Behavioural Coach, NLP Practitioner, Parent Coach, and Movement Specialist with over 25 years of experience supporting deeply feeling humans and families.

Grounded in nervous system science and shaped by her lived experience as a neurodiverse single mother to a gifted autistic child, Sarah helps clients build compassionate, sustainable strategies for regulation, resilience, confidence, and everyday well-being.

Her work blends trauma-informed coaching, embodied movement, and neuro-affirming support through an accessibility-informed lens. She specializes in emotional regulation, nervous system care, home-based learning support, and parent-centred behaviour change — helping individuals and families move beyond burnout toward greater connection, capacity, and vitality.

At the core of her practice is the belief that “the nervous system is the strategy.” She is the founder of Raised Rooted Parenting, a coaching platform supporting families at every stage of their journey.

Outside of her work, Sarah enjoys exploring the trails and lakes of the Pacific Northwest with her son — a meaningful way they return to regulation, connection, and joy. Drawing from lived experience, she also supports families in creating flexible learning pathways for children who benefit from additional regulation support.

Sarah is also the founder of RUN4ACAUSE, a social impact initiative that has helped raise more than $2.3 million for over 60 charities. In recognition of her work supporting mental health initiatives and social enterprise for women and girls, she was honoured to receive the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.

What Makes THEM Special?

I am an experienced coach and educator who has spent more than 20 years building a successful movement and coaching practice.

My passion is helping clients build deeper trust in themselves, their parenting, and their evolving identity. I specialize in supporting neurodiverse families, special education advocacy, and single-parent support. Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. I am dedicated to making my programs and services inclusive, approachable, accessible, and affordable. I strive to create compassionate spaces where clients feel safe, seen, and can show up fully as themselves while being supported through growth, healing, and the evolving journey of parenthood.

In addition to my coaching work, I also co-founded a community-focused coffee shop rooted in connection, inclusion, and social impact. The cafe has an equitable literacy library for families to enjoy, and holds regular community events, along with Sensory Sensitive hours of operation.
